"Dota 2", or "Defense of the Ancients" as originally known in Warcraft III, is one of the most leading free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena video game in the world. It already has Annual International competitions where teams fight for a prize money of millions of dollars. Well, let's not talk about the success of the game,rather, let us talk about the players themselves.
Players do not have any age limit or requirement, as long as you can do the basic stuffs, you can rule whatever it is in-game.Though age range is quite a bit, all Dota 2 players hear these five exact things from non-players.
1. "Get a life." Being a gamer in this modern society is commonly referred as "nerds" and "geeks". This stereotyping has been on a while now that we just get used to it. Sure, living inside the computer is not a natural thing a human would do but let's face it, soon we'll be the ancestors of the future technological era where wars are set on a hologram board, played by two sides in a fair and chaos-free way. That's one way to stop fighting, people! Thank us later.
2. "That's not a real sport." Sure it is not. IT'S AN E-SPORT where we no longer do massive physical exertions just to enjoy the sweet taste of victory. Coordination between humans is there and plus we can train our brains to think faster rather than using tactics depending on brute strength. Playing Dota 2 requires strategy in solely outsmarting the enemy and destroying those ancients which ,in return, gives us smarter brains and a hell of a good time!
3. "Girlfriend/Boyfriend or Dota 2?" What kind of question is that? We both love them! It's like given two puppies at the same time, would you let other puppy be alone? Of course no, you try to make them happy both but it sure is quite tiring which is why we question ourselves with this: "Can't the two puppies play with each other?" Dota 2 is free for all, anyone can play this godforsaken game! Next time you THINK you HAVE to WEIGH the two, just invite them to play with each other. You two can be the cutest couple who plays the awsome Legen-- wait for it --dary Dota 2.
4. "Dota 2 is a fun game for everybody, learning is easy but for those who still have studies, careers and responsibilities, please do finish them because ain't forever." Eenk! Dota 2 is forever! Forever... at least in our hearts... Just kidding. That saying is true though. Please don't sacrifice any of those for Dota 2. Sure we love it, but trust me, we will all grow up someday. Some might even be turn into THESE kind of people (referring to the non-gamer) but for now, let's enjoy.
